Born in Monterrey, Mexico, I began making art at a young age through local classes that sparked my creativity. At 10, I migrated to Chicago, where I continued drawing, painting, and writing throughout my adolescence. After high school, I pursued a degree in graphic design, then studied fine arts at Brookhaven Community College in Dallas, Texas, focusing on figure drawing, photography, painting, and printmaking.
Eventually, I dropped out of college to travel and experience art beyond the classroom. I visited museums, studios, and underground spaces across Europe, Latin America, and the U.S., learning from the textures, colors, and stories embedded in each place.
As someone who stutters, I’ve often struggled to express myself through speech. That challenge pushed me to use visual art as a way to communicate. Painting became my language—one shaped by rhythm, silence, and intuition.
Today, my work blends drawing, painting, and design with a focus on abstraction. I use layers, shapes, and textures to explore memory, movement, and transformation. My practice continues to evolve, grounded in handmade traditions and fueled by lived experience. Art remains the most honest voice I have.
