"Opalchenska" is an abstract painting inspired by my time in Bulgaria, named after a metro station in Sofia.
The work captures the layered chaos and unexpected harmony of urban life. The central geometric forms reference architectural elements and public signage, while the playful shapes and saturated colors evoke memories of local markets, graffiti, and Eastern European textures. Beneath the surface, the piece reflects the duality of order and spontaneity.
A rigid structures emerge from a chaotic background, much like my impressions of Bulgaria’s mix of tradition and transition. It’s a visual diary of movement, memory, and cultural collision.
